IWAPI and BSN Partner to Empower Indonesian SMEs with National Quality Standards
Yanty Melianty, the founder of PT MagFood Inovasi Pangan and Vice Chairwoman IX of the IWAPI Central Board, has initiated a landmark Cooperation Agreement between IWAPI (the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association) and BSN (the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia). This partnership was launched alongside a crucial training session focused on the benefits of SNI (Indonesian National Standard), ISO, and KAN accreditation for helping Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) gain a competitive edge in both local and international markets. The event also featured a testimonial from an F&B SME that has successfully implemented SNI HACCP, enabling them to penetrate modern supermarket chains and export markets. The standards discussed extend beyond product quality to encompass various management systems tailored to different business categories.
This initiative, led by IWAPI’s Vice Chairwoman IX (Yanty Melianty and Komtap Arsilia), aims to mobilize all IWAPI divisions to cascade the SNI program nationwide, driving real growth for SMEs (“UMKM Naik Kelas”). The program’s goal is not just to provide training but to offer on-site technical guidance to help businesses implement robust management and product systems before final certification. This collaborative effort is a dedicated step toward creating a competent and competitive SME ecosystem in Indonesia.
